Tavistock Lane off Frome Road. 'Gerard and Goodman's' must have gone out of business a long time ago. So many of these alleyways hint at the businesses of the past, with the ghosts of faded paint telling of what once was.The other side of this building faces Synagogue Place. It appears to be used as a student art gallery these days.

No strictly True. Alfred and wife started G&G in 1907 where it expanded through the 20's, the main entrance was located in Synagogue Place around 1927. with the building on Rundle St being built later. The Gerard family expanded too with 3 or 4 sons. In around 1936 the business split off its manufacturing wing to Bowden, needing more space, taking 2 sons to help run Clipsal, the remaining two brothers, Jack and Hubert ran the Retail and Wholesale sales of the factories output, keeping the original name.
In the seventies Gilbert Lodge bought G&G and not that long afterwards G&G folded and the building was bought by the University of Adelaide.
