The "Project" goes to the Mullet Festival

As part of Youth Week 2005, the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters is holding their first Mullet Festival, a celebration of youth arts in the Eastern suburbs.

I'm very pleased to announce that four of my photos from this project will be appearing in the Mullet Festival's visual art exhibition.

The festival launch is being held on Saturday the 9th of April between 2.30pm and 6pm at the Norwood Concert Hall, The Parade, Norwood. The visual art exhibition will be displayed for the public from the launch of the festival to Saturday the 16th of April. Public viewing times at two venues along The Parade, Norwood, are as follows:

Don Pyatt Hall and Mayor's Parlour
11.30am to 6.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays

Big Star Records
11am to 5pm, Sunday
10am to 5pm, Monday
10am to 6pm, Tuesday and Wednesday
9am to 9pm, Thursday to Saturday

I'm not sure which venue will be displaying my photos but I'm sure both places will be worth checking out for a variety of visual art works.

What's the thing to say for luck in a photo exhibition? Probably not "Break a leg", but... ? Don't know. Good luck anyway. Which pics are you showing?

Sorry for not replying sooner, Deirdre - for some reason your comment never reached my email. The photos I put in were Devonshire Place II, Naylor Street I, Twin Street III and Twin Street IV. I didn't have the time or money to get them framed, so I just painted some canvas grey and glued the photos onto that. I wanted to use all of my favourites but they didn't go together, so I settled on a 'circle' theme instead - check the photos out (if you can find them) and you'll see what I mean.

Not much gossip to give you, Twinki. I went along on Saturday with much anticipation but didn't want to go into the gallery when I got there. I felt a bit strange knowing that a heap of people would be looking at my photos and that unlike this blog, I would be able to look at them looking. I got over it after a few minutes outside and went in. A middle-aged man spent almost a minute looking, which made me feel better about the whole thing. Didn't stick around for the awards ceremony so I still don't know who won the prizes. I need to pick the photos up this weekend, so I'll be able to find out if anyone wanted to buy them. I'll keep you updated...

Didja win, didja win?? I didn't know there was a competition involved, so that's even more exciting. If Twin Street IV didn't win something, you've been dudded.
