Thanks for all of your comments, Twinki. I'd be interested to read some more of your thoughts on the existentialist nature of this photo. Existentialism isn't something I'm very familiar with. So, what existential qualities does this shot have?

The pic (to me) is existentialist in that the initial choice (of where I can park) is limited by the imposition of rules - the no parking sign. Choice and the limitations imposed on our choices are prominent theme in existentialist writing.
The emptiness of the picture reinforces the bleak nature of the restriction of choice.
